Azalea Trail was composed as a traditional melody with a popular music progression in a choral style.  The melody was written thinking of the folk music  of the Eastern Umited States and worked with a subject that related to that music.  Flowers became that subject together with an opportunity to relate it to a most beautiful area of Louisiana.. Azaleas are so prominent in South Louisiana that there is an “Azalea Trail” which one can travel to see beautiful flowers throughout the region.
