From its opening fanfare through the flowing melodies this exceptional new overture provides an uplifting and enriching musical experience. Spirit of Hope was written for the Lewistown (PA) Community Band, of which the composer is a member. The piece was premiered in 2017 by the Messiah College Symphonic Winds, under the direction of Dr. William Stowman. The title comes from Romans 15:13, which says: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (NIV) Ideally suited for contest and festivals of all types.
